Sweet Gypsy Coffee Beans in Hendersonville NC

Sweet Gypsy Coffee Beans

Sweet Gypsy Coffee fresh-roasts specialty coffee beans daily. They turn green coffee beans into beautiful shades from very light brown to very dark brown, depending on the roast profile for the coffee bean. Green beans are supplied by Organic Products Trading Company (OPTCO), a company who works with small-scale farmers around the world to source high-quality green specialty coffee. They buy from Certified Organic and Fair Trade co-operatives and conventional farms that focus on improving their communities, their families, and their environment.

Coffee is graded, similar to eggs or beef into 5 grades. Sweet Gypsy Coffee purchases only the highest grade and roasts only what is known as single-origin coffee. That means that their coffees are not “blends” but rather come from a single place of origin, a specific collection of beans from a single country. The name of the coffee is generally the place it was grown. For example, Ethiopian Sidamo coffees are grown in the Province of Sidamo in the Ethiopian highlands.

Organic Fair Trade

By purchasing Certified Organic green coffee beans, Sweet Gypsy Coffee knows that rigorous production and processing standards have been followed. Growers are inspected yearly by internationally recognized auditors who follow the strict standards set by the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Sweet Gypsy Coffee buys Fair Trade green coffee beans to help find lasting solutions to poverty for small-scale farmers and their families who grow the coffee. According to Organic Products Trading Company (OPTCO): “Fair Trade offers consumers a powerful way to be: involved in reducing poverty through their everyday shopping, as funds that go back to coffee producers are specifically designated for social, economic, and environmental development projects.”

Sweet Gypsy Coffee beans are grown in places all over the world! Our single-origin coffees come from Sumatra, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Ethiopia, Brazil, Kenya, Colombia, and other throughout the world.
